Storyline:
Growing up in Shanghai, Yang Yi Shan fled his aunt in search of freedom and attended school in the northeast, far from Shanghai. He struggled to adjust to life in the northeast for a while, but with the support of a kind northeast girl named Zhao Duo Duo and her friends, he eventually adapted to the unfamiliar environment.

Another school drama, this time they are in college! The male lead goes to school far away from home and meet the dong bei girl aka female lead.
This drama is a pretty good one because its focus is on two clubs! The male lead is into movie/film club, while the female lead is trying to establish an entrepreneur club. They tell their stories and encounter. These two club share the same space. Female lead does a lot of selling things on the side, from makeup to snacks even slippers. Male lead tries to create movie events to attract more people to come to the movie club.
Another theme is friendship and the bond that they have.
Romance is very little in this one, technically no kissing ) because the female lead blocks the camera’s view)
The leads love is super cute and pure, very puppy dog like. The female lead is loud, and obnoxious and the male lead is more shy and collected.
LIKES:
Cinematography and Production were both good.
The colour palette was rich even during the winter scenes.
Music was okay and there wasn’t really any FX to speak of.
The message of taking your time to fall in love with the right person and to cherish your friends, was well delivered.
The parents of FL & ML were fine, except how the writers wrote them in the last episode.
Puppy Love for everyone, almost to the point of being way too sweet.
The acting was decent for the most part.
DISLIKES:
The last episode’s writing involving the parents. (Tantrums of people old enough to know better, were ridiculous.)
Not even one kiss between FL & ML, their love felt like something from a middle school child and not college/university aged people. Same with the adults, it was very childish.
Some parts got a bit boring, the director must have been on a coffee break when it was filmed.
Not much character development for FL & ML or any of the supporting frequently seen characters.
OVERALL:
I watched all the episodes, without skipping any. It’s extra PG in terms of love content. For someone 10 yrs old and up to 16 yrs old, this drama would be well received. I wont watch it again.
